In a recent chat, I was asked by a customer how to remove the reminder app as it had interrupted her presentations and meetings and proven to be troublesome.

Wanting to help the customer get what she wanted, I walked her through the removal steps. It was not until she bid me 'have a good weekend' that I should have walked her through the steps of opening the reminder app and changing the reminders there. It seems to me that it is overly complicated to launch the app once you've got it installed. If anyone has a better way, I'm happy to learn!

Here's how to disable or delete the app:

Click on the 'Window' dropdown menu in the Chrome toolbar, navigate down to and click on 'Extensions.' This will open the Extensions tab in Chrome.
Inside the Extensions tab, you can now choose to disable or delete the Reminder app, or view its permissions and details.

Alternately, If the user has their bookmarks bar enabled, they will see the Apps button:  A small grid of squares with the word 'Apps,' on the left hand side under the navigation buttons.

You can access the Apps by opening a new tab and entering in the address: chrome://apps/

From there you can launch the Desk Yogi Reminder app and edit reminders, or set a new one.

From another issue (that of 3/21-3/22), in which reminders were still popping up after deletion:

The solution would be to sync reminders, following these steps:

  1. Open Chrome.
  2. In the address bar at the top, type chrome://apps
  3. Press Enter.
  4. Click the Desk Yogi app
  5. Login if prompted
  6. Click Sync
He should then see the updated reminders.
